Corridor of Mirrors DVD (1948)
Paul Mangin (Eric Portman) is a wealthy British artist fixated on history. particularly the Renaissance period. When Paul falls for Mifanwy Conway (Edana Romney), a pretty young woman, he begins to believe that he was her lover in an earlier life. While Paul's preoccupation with the past initially seems harmless, it grows to become an all-consuming obsession that takes over his life and threatens others, most notably the lovely Mifanwy.
Starring: Eric Portman, Edana Romney. Christopher Lee
Viewer Quote: "Corridor of Mirrors is a hypnotic and nightmarish experience, not in that scared to death kind of way, but in a nightmare where nothing allows you to be comfortable, keeping you in a realm of purgatory, what is real - imagined - or otherwise? The Venetian costume party is certainly a high point, visually, of the picture. The whole film is strangely reminiscent of Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, primarily because of eerily smooth camera movement and the elaborate castle setting. How can any romantic not enjoy a murderous love story that ends in Madame Tussaud's wax museum.
