The Blue Dahlia (1946) Alan Ladd Classic
A WWII veteran ( Alan Ladd) is accused of killing his unfaithful wife and races against time to find the real murderer with the help of a sympathetic stranger (Lake). Adapted for the screen by acclaimed detective writer Raymond Chandler, the stylized film features moody black and white cinematography and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Starring: Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, William Bendix
Viewer Quote: "A brilliant mystery from Paramount Studios. Ladd and Lake are excellent, but William Bendix steals the show as a G.I. who suffered brain damage in World War II. He is something to see and his wise-cracking lines are some of the best ever delivered in a film noir. He had a short temper and insulted everyone he came in contact with. I just laugh out loud at some of his stuff. If you are a fan of mysteries or just old movies, The Blue Dahlia is a must. Fantastic."
A Film noir favorite. Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake display sizzling screen chemistry in their final movie together.
