Operation Thunderbolt (1977)
Revolutionary Zellen terrorist Wilfried Böse (Klaus Kinski) and his cohorts from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine hijack an Air France flight on a stopover in Athens and force it to fly to Entebbe, Uganda, via Libya. After releasing the non-Jewish passengers, the terrorists ransom the remaining Jewish hostages for the release of political prisoners held by Israel. Israeli commandos launch a daring rescue attempt in this drama based on real-life events from 1976.
Starring: Klaus Kinski, Yehoram Gaon, Sybil Danning
Viewer Review: "This is an amazing retelling of Israel's great Entebbe victory. It doesn't sink into melodrama, but shows us how all the pieces were brought together for this singular achievement. Exciting, gripping, and with a sense of realism rarely seen."
